How will Good Design for Social Housing be used?

Good Design for Social Housing will be used by project teams, delivery partners and all Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) stakeholders.

The document makes it easier for developers to do business with LAHC and ensures our work benefits from and is aligned with the NSW Government’s contemporary visions for built environment design and social housing outcomes.

Good Design for Social Housing and the Land and Housing Corporation Dwelling Requirements replaces the LAHC Design Standards 2014.

Goals for the Land and Housing Corporation

Good Design for Social Housing has four goals for LAHC projects:

  • Tenant well-being
  • Community belonging
  • Drive benefits from collaboration
  • Deliver value for NSW government

Good design is NSW government policy, and it underpins the creation of better places that support the physical, social, cultural, environmental, and economic wellbeing of the community.
