Ivanhoe Estate at Macquarie Park - Contract Awarded
The Aspire consortium has been awarded the contract by the NSW Government to redevelop the Ivanhoe Estate at Macquarie Park. Read the Media Release.
The consortium comprises development partners Frasers Property Australia, Citta Property Group and community housing partner, Mission Australia Housing.
The project will see the transformation of 259 social housing properties on the 8.2 hectare site into a socially integrated neighbourhood of around 3000 to 3500 properties including up to 1000 social and 128 affordable rental apartments.
The Ivanhoe Masterplan, lodged with the Department of Planning and Environment, was publicly exhibited from 12 April - 9 May 2018. The Project team is currently preparing responses to submissions.
As the first major project being delivered under the Future Directions and the Communities Plus program, the project will increase the supply of social housing properties to at least 1000 (almost a four fold increase) which means more people in need can move off the social housing waiting list. New social housing
Tenant relocations started in January 2016 and will be carried out over the next 2-3 years. Experienced FACS staff are assisting tenants to move to ensure each relocation is managed in a sensitive manner. Current tenants have the option to return to the new social housing dwellings in Ivanhoe.
