Ivanhoe Estate at Macquarie Park - Contract Awarded

The Aspire consortium has been awarded the contract by the NSW Government to redevelop the Ivanhoe Estate at Macquarie Park. Read the Media Release.

The consortium comprises development partners Frasers Property Australia, Citta Property Group and community housing partner, Mission Australia Housing.

The project will see the transformation of 259 social housing properties on the 8.2 hectare site into a socially integrated neighbourhood of around 3000 to 3500 properties including over 950 social and 128 affordable rental apartments.

The Ivanhoe Masterplan, lodged with the Department of Planning and Environment, was publicly exhibited from 12 April - 9 May 2018. The Project team is currently preparing responses to submissions.

As the first major project being delivered under the Future Directions and the Communities Plus program, the project will increase the supply of social housing properties to over 950 which means more people in need can move off the social housing waiting list. Download the Ivanhoe brochure.

The project will also meet the needs of tenants aging in place – a significant demographic on the Housing Register – through the provision of:

• 120 bed residential aged care facility
• 141 purpose-built social housing and 132 private independent living units, and a
• Wellbeing centre.

More opportunities for tenants
A key focus of the project is to address housing needs while providing practical opportunities to transition social housing residents to housing independence. Mission Australia Housing will provide support to assist social housing residents to connect with education, training and employment opportunities. 

New education and community facilities
The redevelopment will help to meet the growing demand for high quality education by providing a non-government co-educational vertical high school and two 75 place child care centres. A range of community facilities, public space and a retail centre are also planned.
